Nokia's N-Gage gaming smartphone from 2003 did not perform as well as expected, and its upgraded QD version didn't improve it either.Instead of developing a new gaming device, there was a change in concept as Nokia explained to the world during E3 2005 that they were planning to put a N-Gage platform on several smartphone devices, rather than releasing a specific device (although their N81 model with its two dedicated gaming-buttons next to the screen is being marketed as a phone built for gaming).Katyovescoach on Reddit published the following: “Hey guys.So this morning my i Phone 6 (4 months old) started just randomly restarting itself every 20-30 minutes or so.The extra 4GB of storage is the obvious headline-grabber here, allowing the N95 8GB to match the capacity of the Apple i Phone and the Sony Ericsson W960i.But the N95 8GB is a formidably-equipped smartphone in many other ways too.And the story of Nokia's fall is also the story of the smartphone's rise.

I read an older post suggesting to take the battery out and turn the camera on for a minute to hopefully do some sort of reset, but that didn't work.Nokia has given the N95 8GB a black makeover, making it a sharper, tastier proposition than the silver version.Screen real estate has increased to a noticeably larger 2.8in, 240 x 320 (QVGA) display, up from the original N95’s 2.6in panel. So is the latest version of the N95 a refreshing update for Nokia’s flagship multimedia, GPS-toting mobile?Unlike most upgrades, where cosmetic tweaks give a long-running model a new lease of life, there are real and significant differences with this Symbian S600-based smartphone.

It was often nicknamed as N-Gage Next Generation by the public.

  1. What I originally wrote (and which caused all the problems between Sandbox and Live environments) was a date parsing routine that worked out which bit of the date was which, all done by splitting up the string into substrings – one for the time, date and timezone.
